Life history of Silas Hohulin
Third child – Silas better known as “Si” was born July 8, 1903, at Goodfield, Illinois moved with his parents to Morris, Minnesota in 1907.
Got all his schooling in the little White School on the hill known as Dist. 16. The children had fun snowballing, sled rides and playing handy-over.
Helping on the farm Silas got his arm caught in the big steam engine, all but tearing it off, the doctor operated on our kitchen table. Dr. Cane saved his arm.
Moved to Fort Scott, Kansas worked at Gridley, Kansas, later returning to Fort Scott to help Dad farm.
Repented and was baptized Feb. 15, 1925, at the Apostolic Christian Church at Fort Scott.
Married Lydia (Marti) March 6, 1927 They lived happy for a few short months, a son Martin Dale was born April 30, 1928. The mother died from Childbirth May 14, 1928 was buried at the above church in Lamar, Missouri which was her home.
