I loved to visit Grandpa at 312 Frye Ave., the Fellowship Hall, and the A. C. home. He would sing songs like: The Song The Old Cow Died On and The BlackBird Song. He always had mints and animal crackers.Â
The story I loved the best that Grandpa told was how he hit a donkey on his honeymoon. He was traveling with his new bride (Marie Meyer) and mother (Grandma Leah) and brother (Uncle Herm) and Grandma's sister (Aunt Elisabeth).
Grandpa said that he was reduced to tears on the trip because the women were crying. He said that he never liked to hear women cry.
