Announces Engagement
Mrs. Rosina Meyer announces the engagement of her daughter, Miss Marie Martha Meyer to Ezra Hohulin, the wedding to occur Wednesday, December 22. Miss Meyer has been reared in the Bern-Oneida neighborhood. She is a pretty, accomplished young lady whose friends are delighted that she will remain in this community. Mr. Hohulin is the son of Mr. And Mrs. Tim Hohulin of Fort Scott Kansas, and has been employed on the farm by John Hartier for the past year.
The marriage of Miss Marie Martha Meyer and Ezra Hohulin occurred this Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock at the Court house at Seneca. Judge L. S. Slocum officiating. The young couple were accompanied by their brothers. Solomon Meyer and Herman Hohulin. The bride, who is a very pretty brunette was lovely in her wedding dress of Frost crepe in navy blue attractively trimmed in tan. With this she wore blue silk Bolivia coat, black satin hat and black satin slippers.
Immediately after the ceremony the wedding party returned to the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Rosina Meyer of the Bern neighborhood, where a reception will be given tonight. One hundred guests are expected and a bounteous dinner is planned. Out of town guests here for the affair are the groom’s mother, brother and sister, Mrs Tim Hohulin, Herman and Julia Hohulin of Fort Scott, Kansas.
The young couple will spend their honeymoon in Fort Scott, returning to establish their home on the Levi Stevens farm west of town.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Rosina Meyer of near Bern. She is a charming, attractive young lady, who is not only good to look at but a capable housekeeper and good cook who will bring to the new home the ability to make it a real home. The groom the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Hohulin of Ft. Scott, Kas. For the past year he has been employed by John Hartter on the farm. He has made many friends in his short residence in this community who join the life-long friends of the bride in wishing the young people happiness in their wedded life.
