Life history of Julia Hohulin Sauder
Julia the eldest daughter, and the fourth child, better known as “Jewell” was born Feb. 17, 1905 at Goodfield, Illinois.
She was a welcome child, as she was their first “Little Girl” with her parents she moved to Morris, Minnesota in 1907 got all her schooling in Dist. #16 the little school on the hill.
Grew to young womanhood and had a “few dates”.
Moving to Fort Scott, Kansas Julia worked at the overall factory, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stone.
Julia repented and was baptized Feb. 15, 1925, at the Apostolic Chistian Church at Fort Scott, Kansas. Julia left her job in town, went out on the farm of her brother Silas to take care of his motherless child, Martin Dale.
God will repay Julia for her kindness.
In January 1931 Julia went to Peoria, Illinois where she did housework until “Edward Sauder come along.”
Julia was married to Edward Sauder son of Joseph and Elise (Getz) Sauder of Tremont, Illinois on Sunday Feb. 17, 1935 by Elder Emil Schubert at the Apostolic Chistian Church on Green Street in Peoria, Illinois. Ed Sauder was born Feb. 17, 1910. Julia and Edward were married on both their birthdays.
To this union one son was born March 4, 1936, they named him Merle Edward. The Sauders live on a beautiful farm home near Tremont, Illinois. They have taken a number of nice trips. Seeing the great outdoors “God’s Creation”
